Sony Launches New Security Solutions Program To
Support Ipela Vendors
SAN DIEGO (ASIS, Booth #1928), Sept. 25, 2006 – Sony Electronics today announced the IPELA® Security Solution Partner (SSP) program, a service designed to provide vendors with online information on how best to integrate Sony's IP-based cameras and recorders into their application specialties.
The SSP program also fosters the community of security vendors, service providers, value added resellers and system integrators so that they can form strategic partnership to improve service to clients, while increasing market share using Sony IPELA products, said said Yoshi Hirano, Sony Electronics' senior marketing manager for security products.
The program brings together security software vendors, digital and network video recorder manufacturers, access control system manufacturers, wireless solution vendors, remote monitoring service providers and integrated security management providers. It provides in-depth product information, technical support, marketing updates, client testimonials, as well as news about upcoming events. Qualified members will be able to receive both current and advance product samples for evaluation, as well as discount purchase options for these demo units.
"The SSP program shows Sony's commitment in helping clients grow their business through working together, sharing their expertise with strategic partners, and by learning of our latest security technology to advance their offerings," Hirano said.
Charter SSP Participants include Leading Security Vendors
Qualifying vendors cover a wide range of specialty services as well as general-purpose security products. Charter SSP participants include such security system vendors as Genetec, On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. and D3Data.
Genetec Marketing Director Brett Beranek said the vendor networking enhances their solutions.
"Working with Sony's SSP program allows us the opportunity to work with best-of-breed vendors from emerging technologies so that our Omnicast customers are best served."
Mulli Diamant, vice president of sales at OnSSI, said Sony's new program fits into the vendor's collaborative culture.
"Our philosophy is based on leveraging the inherent value of open, non-proprietary systems to dynamic, innovative technology providers to serve the evolving market. Now, Sony's SSP program offers the occasion for this to happen, while continuing to build their IPELA brand and growing our sales."
David Boyce, technology partner for D3Data, added: "Sony's SSP program fills an important need by providing us with essential industry intelligence to make sure that our NETVM suite of products continue to deliver the best possible solutions for customers."
