Wireless Eye Chooses OnSSI for Wireless Surveillance over IP (WSoIP) of Multiple Remote Locations
CA-based company announces plans to significantly increase its remote monitoring capabilities, and extend its operations to neighboring states
SUFFERN, NY and VISALIA, CA – JUNE 7, 2006 – Wireless Eye, Inc., provider of IP-based remote wireless video surveillance, today announced its plans to increase its remote monitoring capabilities, thus enabling the CA-based company to extend its services to more customers, in California and in neighboring states.
The Company provides remote monitoring and video surveillance services to state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as to a wide variety of customers in the fields of general commerce, industry and agriculture.
Wireless Eye specializes in setting up surveillance systems that are up 100% wireless, in both the transmission of video content from the cameras to the secure server, and from the server to the remote monitoring and video storage locations. In addition, to block any attempt to disable the surveillance systems' power, Wireless Eye's 65-foot wireless towers run on solar power and provide Power Over Ethernet (POE) to the cameras.
At the heart of Wireless Eye's operations is the Company's state-of-the-art CCC (Command and Control Center), which employs multiple 150-inch projection screens, each displaying views from 16 cameras, or up to 64 cameras if needed. In light of the recent and future expansion of its services, the Company intends to double, then quadruple the number of display monitors.
After testing a series of video surveillance management software products, Wireless Eye chose OnSSI in 2005 as its system-wide software platform for camera management, remote viewing, archiving and after-the-fact investigation into recorded content. OnSSI Network Video Recorders (NVRs), which have been deployed successfully in many wireless video surveillance settings, are installed at each and every remote site. The NVR manages the cameras, the 12-month seamless archiving on video content, and the local and remote access to video. Wireless Eye's control room employs OnSSI's NetGuard remote video client, which enables map-driven drill-down navigation to cameras, camera view-set management, and powerful motion detection and investigation tools.
Nick Giotta, VP Marketing at Wireless Eye, noted "after trying a number of camera management software systems, we found OnSSI to be the most reliable and suitable for our needs. OnSSI's solution delivers the most operational flexibility – in supporting practically every IP camera, in being totally hardware-independent, and no less important, in allowing interoperability with third party API systems such as access control, contact closure, etc. OnSSI's NetGuard also adds the benefit of extremely easy access to cameras and after-the-fact investigation".
Mulli Diamant, VP Sales at OnSSI, added "Wireless Eye's utilization of OnSSI's technology validates our premise of providing a reliable and robust non-proprietary, open-architecture surveillance solution. OnSSI's technology has here reaffirmed its adaptability to wireless IP by constantly optimizing its bandwidth utilization. In addition, today's larger and larger surveillance systems, which made manned monitoring impractical, require a new approach to monitoring and event detection – namely, reliance on interconnectivity with third party systems, and extensive investigation into recorded video. We are proud to be such a key component in Wireless Eye's advanced solution".
