Registration

Please read this page in its entirety prior to registration and register via the Online Certification Training Registration Form.

Since the Certification Training includes hands-on experience with OnSSI’s software, the number of participants in each session is very limited. Until today we have always reached capacity weeks before the training. We encourage you to register early to assure your participation.

Note that participation is assured only once the listed contact person on the form receives a confirmation email from OnSSI.

Cost of the training

The upcoming Certification Trainings will be at no charge to participants. However, OnSSI reserves the right to charge a nominal fee for future training sessions.

Cancellations

As the cost per participant incurred by OnSSI is extremely high, please notify us immediately upon knowledge of cancellation, for any reason.

Equipment required for the training

Participants will make use of their own laptop PCs in the course of the training, for the purpose of following the PowerPoint presentation as well as for installing and operating the OnSSI products.

Please make sure your laptop computer has the following:

  1. Minimum requirements: Pentium 4 with 512 MB RAM.
  2. CD ROM Drive
  3. CAT5 network cable socket
  4. Microsoft XP Pro (recommended), XP or 2000. All updates (available from the Microsoft website) should be installed prior to the training.
  5. Microsoft .Net (Dot-Net) framework v.2.0 installed (available here).
  6. Microsoft MSXML 6.0 installed (available here)
  7. MS PowerPoint
  8. We recommend using an external mouse.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own IP cameras; shared cameras for hands-on labs will be provided.

Make sure that you have administrative right for your machine, otherwise you may not be able to install the required software during the training.

Eligibility to participate in Certification Training

At time of registration, the participant’s company must be registered as an OnSSI Channel Partner. For more information about OnSSI’s Channel Partner program, its benefits and how to apply is available on the Channel Partner Program page.

Participants must be full-time employees of the organization, with at least 3 full months of employment.

Scope of the training

OnSSI’s Channel Partner Certification Training consists of extensive technical training, both theoretical and hands-on, alongside an overview of IP video surveillance marketing- and sales-related content.

The following theoretical topics will be covered in the course of the training:

  • The evolution in video surveillance, from analog VCR to DVR to NVR
  • IP technology, and how it differs from other means of content delivery
  • Optimal network topology, including wireless networks
  • Image resolution terminology (e.g. CIF, megapixel)
  • Determining optimal frame size and frame rate for different surveillance situations
  • Formats and codecs, pros and cons of each (e.g. MJPEG, MPEG-4)
  • Video database storage and archiving considerations
  • Characteristics of different IP cameras
  • Surveillance system design considerations
  • Product specific: in-depth hands-on training on OnSSI’s entire product line

Prerequisites for Certification Training

The purpose of the Certification Training is to review and apply the principles of IP video surveillance technologies using OnSSI's products.

Participants are expected to install and experiment with OnSSI’s NetDVMS prior to the training. The full version of the software is available here, as a 30-day full-featured trial. Additional information may be found in the NetDVMS Quickstart Guide and User Manual.
