Technical Support Engineer, Senior

OnSSI is looking for an experienced Technical Engineer to join the team and help provide application support for our video management software (VMS). This individual would diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems and help customers with the installation or use of our software programs. Projects may include the use and knowledge of a wide variety of technologies, resolving network issues, configuring operating systems and using remote desktop connections to provide immediate support.

Main Responsibilities:

 

• Provide software application support over the phone, via email, and remotely using third party remote control software
• Create, handle, maintain, and close cases utilizing Salesforce
• Document issues and solutions
• Escalate and request assistance from others, as needed
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others
• Handle oneself calmly and professionally regardless of the circumstances
• Be punctual, responsible and flexible with hours, and policy changes

Required Skills and Experience:

 

• Excellent knowledge of network and related concepts
• Good knowledge of Windows 7/8/10 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware related problems
• Knowledge of SQL, IIS, Message Queuing
• Preferred previous experience with Ocularis or other VMS software
• Ability to travel to customer sites when needed
• 5+ years of Technical Engineering Experience

Test Engineer

We are looking for a Test Engineer to help us automate existing test cases as well as creating new tests for new and existing functionality. The ideal candidate is experienced in test automation and has excellent skills both in writing code and developing tests. More than anything, we are looking for someone with the “Tester” mindset, who can identify appropriate test cases for a specific piece of functionality. However this person also needs to have the right programming skills to be able to automate the test cases they identify.

Main Responsibilities:

 

• Create test cases suitable for automation
• Develop automated tests using UI automation frameworks
• Develop automated tests that interact directly with the code (mainly Unit Tests)
• Develop testing tools for the manual QA team to use in testing our software
• Execute existing automated tests and track, investigate and debug any failures
• Support the development team by investigating customer problems, fix bugs, and occasionally work on minor feature improvements

Required Skills and Experience:

 

• Must be experienced in one or more object oriented programming languages (C# and C++ are strongly preferred)
• Must have the ability to find relevant and appropriate test cases for a given piece of functionality
• Must have prior experience in writing Unit Tests
• Must understand basic testing concepts such as Unit Test vs Integration Test
• Experience with SQL is required
• Experience with any UI automation frameworks is preferred
• Experience with dependency injection is a big plus
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Energetic and hard-working
